Who is eligible for
Medicare Part D?

In most cases, you are eligible for Medicare Part D if:

  • You are eligible for Medicare and you are enrolled in either Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B.
  • You are eligible at any age with certain disabilities including:
    • A disability for which you have been receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) for more than 24 months.
    • End-stage renal disease.
    • ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, for which you are receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits.

Eligibility for Blue MedicareRx (PDP)

You cannot be enrolled in another Medicare Part D prescription drug plan or Medicare Advantage plan with Part D coverage. Your former employer/union has already selected a plan for you. The information above is about general Medicare eligibility.
